Priya worked in accounts at a financial services firm for 14 years. Her role was made redundant in March. Her employer offered her Away Newgrounds. Eight months later she is leading a landcare crew in the Snowy Mountains.

Three weeks back at Ruth’s property in an extended working placement. Real landcare work — vegetation surveys, planting programmes, erosion control. By week two, Priya was running the morning crew briefing.
